Functions at Lakeside Gardens Café

The Lakeside Gardens Café and Function Centre offers a choice of two venues - seating up to 120 people. Both rooms reflect the exquisite surroundings with diverse views of the picturesque gardens, ponds and lakes.

The Camellia Room has floor to ceiling windows, which incorporate fairy lights, and has its own deck overlooking the lake - perfect for watching the sunset. The Garden Room overlooks the gardens and lake, and features clear rolling blinds with a 'Marquee' feel, and enchanting fairy lights.

Weddings

Just minutes from the city and located in the Mt Coot-tha Botanic Gardens, the Lakeside Functions Centre offers you a truly romantic and tranquil setting for your special day.

Specialising in wedding receptions from intimate gatherings of 20 guests to cocktail receptions of 150 guests, the Lakeside Function Centre offers two venues for your exclusive use. The Camellia Room seating up to 120 guests in air conditioned comfort with floor to ceiling windows and intimate lighting. The Garden Terrace seating up to 90 guests with picturesque views of the lake and gardens. We can cater for your wedding breakfast, lunch, high tea, dinner or cocktail party reception.

Our experienced functions and event managers can offer you a range of menus and service options to meet your specific requirements and budget.

Wedding night accommodation at the Royal on the Park Hotel in a spa suite with complimentary breakfast and a bottle of sparkling wine.

We will upgrade your guests to our premium beverage package for a 5 hour period.

Terms and Conditions

Tentative Bookings: A tentative reservation will be held for 7 days from the date the tentative booking was made. If the booking is not confirmed after 7 days then the date will be cancelled without notice.

Confirmation of Bookings: A deposit of $1,000.00 will be required to secure your booking. This payment will be deducted from your final account. Written confirmation will be sent to you upon receipt of your deposit.

Final Payment: Full payment for the confirmed final number of guests at your function will be required 7 days prior to your event. Refunds for a decrease in numbers will not be given after final numbers are confirmed. Any additional charges such as a bar tab or extended room hire are required to be settled at the end of the function.

Cancellations: Cancellations must be submitted in writing to the venue. Deposits will only be refunded if your cancelled date is rebooked.

Prices: All prices are inclusive of GST. All advertised prices are for functions and events being held in the current financial year (July 2008 to June 2009). An increase of 6% on advertised price will apply from July 2009 to June 2010. Lakeside Gardens Cafe reserve the right to increase prices at any time at their discretion.

Minimum Numbers: The following minimum numbers will apply unless otherwise stated on our menu packages. Cocktail Packages: Sunday to Friday 35 guests, Saturday 60 guests. Dinner and Buffet Packages: Sunday to Friday 35 guests, Saturday 60 guests. Breakfast and Lunch Packages: Sunday to Saturday 35 guests. These are the minimum numbers you will be required to pay for a package. Public Holidays: A surcharge of 15% of the total account will apply on public holidays. Complimentary offers (See page 2) minimum number requirements Dinner and Buffet Packages: 50 guests and Cocktail Packages: 60 guests.

Planning and Co-ordination: Appointments with our functions manager are available 7 days between the hours of 9am - 12pm and 2pm - 4.30pm.

Liquor Licensing: The venue reserves the right to not serve any person that the venue deems to be unduly intoxicated. Persons under the age of 18 years will not be served alcoholic beverages.

Menu Selection, special diets and children’s prices: We will specially cater for any of your guests who have specific dietary requirements, provided that sufficient notice is given. If you wish to vary the menu please feel free to discuss your ideas with us. A price change may occur with menu changes. There is no charge for any children under the age of three years. For those children between three and eleven, the package charges are calculated at half the adult rate, or special children’s packages can be arranged.

Guests’ Property: Lakeside Gardens Cafe will accept no liability or responsibility for the loss of or damage to organisers or guests’ property, before during or following a function. All guests’ property must be removed from the venue prior to the conclusion of the event unless previously organised with function event manager.

Beverage package extensions: An additional $8.00 per guest will be charged for each hour after the nominated period of your package.

Changes to wedding packages: Where the client wishes to use a bar tab as opposed to a beverage package, an additional fee of $400.00 will be applicable. Where the client wishes to use a cash bar as opposed to a beverage package, an additional fee of $600.00 is applicable. All function packages are inclusive of room hire. If you choose not to have the package a room hire of $500.00 for 5 hours will apply. Plating of wedding cake as dessert $7.00 per person.

Room Hire Extensions: A charge of $300.00 will apply for use of the facilities after a 5 hour period and up to a 6 hour period.

Public Events: The Lakeside Gardens Café advises those clients who intend to hold wedding ceremonies in the Gardens to check for any public events that may be occurring on that day. The Lakeside Gardens Cafe accepts no responsibility for any public events held in the Gardens, and for any interference with ceremonies that it may cause.

Noise Restrictions: The Garden Room has an 87 decibel noise threshold. DJ Music and classical music are the only forms of music allowed.
